IGME-110 / Fall 2018

Resource Web Site

In this assignment, you may use the template files I've provided to create a website about your paper topic. You can (and should) modify aspects of the appearance-- typeface, color, border, content, images, etc--to work with your own content. You may also choose to modify your original project to meet the criteria below.

Site Requirements

  • The files for your site should be uploaded to a www/igme110/2018new directory on banjo.rit.edu.
  • The main page should be called index.html, and should include a title with the site topic and a relevant image, a brief overview of your paper topic, and your name.
  • The site should use a consistent visual design, using principles of color, layout and typography discussed in class. The colors, fonts, and images should work together well.
  • The main page should display properly at the URL http://people.rit.edu/youruserid/igme110/2018new/ (replace ‘youruserid’ with YOUR user ID!)
  • The sources page should include a list of all image, text, and/or code sources that you used on the site, with links back to the source. It should also include a version of your paper bibliography with functioning links to the sources.
  • Each of the pages should include at least one appropriate image (a photograph, a logo, etc).
  • All pages must properly validate for both HTML and CSS. I will use the W3C HTML and CSS validators to check this.

Privacy

If you have concerns about privacy, I can provide you with a method to restrict access to the portfolio directory so that only RIT-affiliated users can view it. See me during my office hours for information on how to implement this option.

Website Grading Rubric

Your site must be visible at the specified URL (http://people.rit.edu/youruserid/igme110/2018new/) no later than 8am on Monday, November 27. You must also notify me via Slack or email that you have submitted the revised project.
